Community Obesity Outreach Program

JOIN THE COOP-102 Health Initiative

This study is currently recruiting participants.

Enroll in this Community Obesity Outreach program, to improve your lifestyles and health. It is an outreach program designed to promote healthy living for people ages 8-70. We are looking to recruit overweight/obese, low to moderate income minority women, men and children who would be interested in helping us learn over the next 6 months how to control obesity and stay healthy. You will have access to a fitness instructor who will help with your exercise routine, daily food intake, and much, much more.

The goals of the COOP-102 Health Initiative are to:

  • Educate and inform low-income minority youth and adults about the health risks of obesity

  • Provide education and motivation for healthy lifestyle alternatives

  • Provide sites for exercising and health evaluations

  • Provide computer and laboratory classes to promote healthy eating

  • Promote physical activity and healthy eating within the community
